The Golden Ring is one of the oldest routes to be found in Russia. It is a circular tourist route that begins in Moscow and traveling it will allow you to visit many interesting and historical Russian cities and towns. These towns boast a delightful history and contain many examples of unique Russian architecture.

Traditionally the Golden Ring route is run in a counter clockwise direction and it starts in Moscow. From here you will visit Vladimir, Suzdal, Kostroma, Yaroslavl, Rostov Velikiy, Pereslavl-Zalesskiy and Sergiev Posad. All the towns are relatively close together and positioned in a somewhat circular pattern through Russia. Travel between them is easily available on trains and buses, or even car.

The Golden Ring route is famous for its old cities and towns, each a gem in its own right.
