Description:

This annual celebration is also known as Men's Day or Army Day and is a tribute to Russian soldiers from past to present who have courageously defended the Motherland against invaders. Commerative festivities include the laying of a wreath by the Russian President at the memorial of the "Unknown Soldier" near the Kremlin Wall in Moscow.

The women of Russia use this opportunity to express appreciation by means of gifts which are presented to all males, irrespective of age, or whether they have actually been in the armed forces.
