The Irkutsk Region [01:01]
Irkutsk is the capital of eastern Siberia and the Baikal region. While the city preserves its unique history, it also looks forward actively to Siberia's future. The Irkut River gave the name to the city, and the shore of the Angara river became a citadel of Russian discoverers in the 17th century. Today, from this cultural and scientific center, there are a lot of interesting routes on the unique railway around Lake Baikal, that includes hundreds of bridges and tunnels along the way. The Taltsy Ethnographic Museum is a delightful experience that reflects the history and culture of the Baikal area. Endless rivers and lakes rich in fish attract fishermen from all over the world. The Irkutsk Region is Siberia's bountiful and generous gift.

Il s'agit d'un arrangement d'environ deux minutes du thème musical de l'Ode à la joie, dernier mouvement de la Neuvième symphonie écrite en 1823 par Ludwig van Beethoven. Ce thème est actuellement utilisé par le Conseil de l'Europe et par l'Union européenne. Après la Seconde guerre mondiale, concomitamment à la question d'un drapeau pour les nouvelles institutions européennes, la question d'un hymne suscita un regain d'intérêt. Wonderful IMPERIAL PALACE built by Peter the Great, very wide park and amazing fountains. ********************** PETERHOF è la più importante e bella residenza imperiale nei dintorni di San Pietroburgo, da cui dista circa 30 km; ubicata sul golfo di Finlandia, è facilmente raggiungibile con l'aliscafo in partenza di fronte all'Ermitage. La reggia fu inaugurata nel 1723 da Pietro il Grande che dotò la stessa di un grandissimo parco con una articolata struttura idrica sotterranea e strepitose fontane, veri e propri capolavori di ingegneria idraulica.
