Check out my adventures in Moscow, Russia. This amazing city has a rich history and a distinct culture like no other. One travel tip, if you don't speak Russian, travelling in Moscow can be quite a challenge. Be prepared to use a lot of sign language. Visit a typical soviet Russian home called the kommunalka. After the 1917 revolution, these large, grand apartments were confiscated and converted to hold multiple families with shared baths and kitchens. Experiencing the kommunalka is the key to understanding soviet culture and unlocking the Russian soul.

Dance performance by international dancer Ms. Irina Iskorostenskaia Ms. Irina Iskorostenskaia is from Russia. She started learning Dance at the age of 6 at the Ballet School in Moscow. Initially she joined private tution from Smt. Nirmala Ramachandran,in Moscow later she joined "Kalakshetra" (Chennai) and graduated with 'First Class' diploma. She teaches Bharatanatyam dance under the auspices of JNCC, Moscow. She is one of the founders and the Director of "Nritya Sabha"- the Foundation of Indian Cultural Heritage Heritage Studies. Apart from teaching dance, Irina widely performs along with her students and colleagues, gives lectures demonstrations and workshops. 3rd International Dance Festival: The ICCR is organising the 3rd International Dance Festival, showcasing performances by foreign artistes, who have achieved high level of proficiency in Indian Classical dance. The first International Dance Festival was held during 2-4 August 2010 in New Delhi. These artistes have been doing commendable work in promoting Indian dance and culture abroad. Most of them have learnt advanced level of classical dance in India either at a dance institution or with a Guru and have taken on a significant personal commitment to disseminate their knowledge in Indian as well as in their home countries. For some, their love for the Indian culture has made them shift their base to India. The council has invited artistes from, Russia, Spain, Argentina, Poland, Iran and Kazakhasthan. Through this ...

3rd International Dance Festival: The ICCR organized the 3rd International Dance Festival, showcasing performances by foreign artistes, who have achieved high level of proficiency in Indian Classical dance. The first International Dance Festival was held during 2-4 August 2010 in New Delhi. These artistes have done commendable work in promoting Indian dance and culture abroad. Most of them have learnt advanced level of classical dance in India either at a dance institution or with a Guru and have taken on a significant personal commitment to disseminate their knowledge in Indian as well as in their home countries. For some, their love for the Indian culture has made them shift their base to India. The council has invited artistes from, Russia, Spain, Argentina, Poland, Iran and Kazakhasthan. Through this Festival, ICCR plans to showcase the intrest with which the Indian classical dances are being learnt and taught abroad by foriegn nationals.
