O primeiro festival de moda mulçumana da Rússia tenta mudar a imagem da mulher islâmica como pessoa escravizada pelo rigor dos dogmas do Corão e fora das novas tendências da moda. O festival realizado no principal centro de exposições de Moscou reuniu desenhistas da Rússia, Cáucaso Norte, Ásia Central, Irã e países árabes. Os vestidos, roupas para noite e longas túnicas apresentados pelas belas modelos russas respeitam os princípios do Corão. A impressão do espectador é que os desenhistas buscaram na tradição uma forma de apresentar uma mulher feminina, graças à pureza do material utilizado e às cores pouco chamativas. "Queremos mostrar a beleza do Islã. Muitas mulheres querem se vestir bonitas, mas encontrar roupa que respeite os códigos e seja bonita nem sempre é fácil", disse a porta-voz da organização do evento.
