At that time, Ukraine was part of the Soviet Union. The event is regarded as the worst accident in the history of nuclear power. Because there was no containment building to trap the radiation, radioactive fallout drifted over parts of the western Soviet Union, Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, the UK, and the eastern United States. Large areas of Ukraine, Belarus, and Russia were badly contaminated. About 70% of the radioactive fallout landed in Belarus. About 200000 people needed to be evacuated (moved away) and moved to other places where they could live after the accident. チェルノブイリ原子力発電所事故（チェルノブイリげんしりょくはつでんしょじこ）とは、1986年4月26日1時23分（モスクワ時間※UTC+3）にソビエト連邦（現：ウクライナ）のチェルノブイリ原子力発電所4号炉で起きた原子力事故。広島に投下された原子爆弾（リトルボーイ）に換算して約500発分の原爆投下に相当する量の放射性物質が撒き散らされたことから、「核戦争」とも表現された。

Infinity Ward put in alo of time and actually took real images and landmarks from chernoybl and put them into the game.
