Novokuznetsk - A city in under 10 minutes [08:21]
This video was edited by myself with clips sent over from family over there. All the music is mentioned in the video itself so if you like it feel free to download it from itunes. I do not own the music. The city was founded in 1618 by Cossacks, growing greatly after Stalin's industrialization which helped it build the nation's largest coal mines and steel plants. With a population of over 548000, the city harbors many post-secondary Universities for both engineering and medicine. The city also has nationally-acclaimed hockey and rugby teams, and has many municipal transportation systems in place. I guess if you want to know from first hand experience, it's a great city but does have it's flaws just like any big city. Crime is obviously big in certain regions, and you can sense the smog from the city's steel mill throughout the region. However if you drive out by 30 minutes it's easy to find cottage country and many other natural landscape features.

It stinks everywhere of pollution. Everywhere smells like gasoline. I thought it was supposed to be pretty and westernized. I didn't get either impression. Even the pretty buildings were covered in grime and dirt as were the cars. Nothing can keep clean in this amount of pollution. Also, you can't drink the water. There's a weird organism that basically gives you constant uncontrollable diarrhea. And if you get it, you have to take pills for a month that make you turn yellow. I was told not to be too paranoid...but whatever, I brushed my teeth with bottled water. Apparently, you can drink the water in Moscow, but it actually tastes worse than St. Petersburg. It's like a giant cup of smog water. On the first day, due to a stroke of luck, I didn't miss breakfast. Some kids spent too long pondering the sign on the first floor that said breakfast with an arrow. Breakfast was, actually, on the 18th and top floor. Who knew? The breakfast was awesome. Such a nice change from bread and cheese and blah of Danish food. There were crepes with sour cream, eggs, cereal, bread and cheese (for the other Europeans) and oh, rice and steamed vegetables. I think they were perhaps targetting the Japanese business men crowd, not ...

Take-off from Moscow, DME flight IB3811 [01:11]
IB3811 was taking of on August 5th 2010 and the next day in Moscow was horrible again. This is the onnly day people had break of smog. The airpane was full of spanish guys with russian wifes and children. Now its very popular in spain to have a western-european wife. I can not imagine where do spanish women go to get married...
