Ordinary Life in Extraordinary Times: Soviet Union [15:22]
Some of the daily life for the average citizens in the Soviet Union in the 70's-80's. The little girl in the video is me at the age of 2, 4 and 5. Filmed in Mitishi, the little, industrial town, not far from Moscow. You could see several children playgrounds near my house, Town Park with some old carousels called 'Daisy' and 'Boats'. The second part of the film was made in Moscow at the All-Russia Exhibition Centre/Exhibition of Achievements of the National Economy. The exhibition place had about 80 pavilions and area of 700000 square metres. Each pavilion had been dedicated to a particular industry or a field. You could see Central Pavilion and Space Pavilion in the film. I want to say a big thank you to Alexandr Valinov who is an operator and director of the film. Great job. Directed, produced by Alexandr Valinov.

Changing of the Guard, Mamayev Kurgan Memorial, Russia. [05:37]
Memorial to Starlingrad heroes. Mamayev Hill Memorial is based in Volgograd (formaly known as Starlingrad). The Battle of Stalingrad began on 19 of August 1942 and ended on February 2, 1943. The first massive bombing of Stalingrad took place on 19 August 1942. By February 2nd 1943 Field Marshal Paulus, signed the unconditional surrender of his army. At that time Stalingrad was a major industrial center, producing, in particular, T-34 tanks. The Stalingrad area was the largest agricultural region. All this (the production of weapons and food) helped to win at that battle. The capture of this area was one of Hitler's strategic objectives. After the defeat near Moscow in 1941, Hitler renounced its capture and in 1942 directed his efforts to capture Stalingrad and the Caucasus. Caucasus - that is Baku oil. Winter, of course, played a role, but the key was in a fierce resistance both the civilian population and the army. In 1956, took place 20th Congress of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, which denounced Stalin's personality cult and served as a starting point for the country's democratization in the postwar period. A byproduct of this was the renaming of Stalingrad which is now known as Volgograd.

Saint Petrsburg OpenCity (Russian Version) [09:18]
Saint-Petersburg. The Northern capital of Russia. Being uniquely beautiful, always versatile, but harmonious, this city fascinates, mesmerizes and evokes creativity. Early 21** century Saint-Petersburg can be portrayed as a combination of the heavenly and earthly, history and contemporaneity, tradition and innovation. Preserved in the soul of anyone who has visited Saint-Petersburg at least once and guarded by the golden angel, keeping a bird's eye sight over Peter the Great's creation, Saint-Petersburg was and still is a city one loves to visit again and again. This city has a unique cultural, industrial and investment potential, symbolizing the European Russia.
