White whales are playing with the divers in the White Sea, Russia. Dive center Artic Circle, September 2010. Beluga/ White whale (Delphinapterus leucas) The White whales are living in Arctic and subArctic waters ranging from 50° N to 80° N (along the coasts of Alaska, Greenland, Canada & Russia). The White whales/ Belugas are also called the Sea Canary on account of its high-pitched squeaks, squeals & whistles. Can be long up to 5,5 m, weight up to 1.600 kg, female are smaller than a male. Feeding mainly on fish, also eat squid, octopus and crustaceans.
